Battle of the Best Bowl

Açaí bowls burst onto the Gold Coast scene a few years ago, and onto our Instagram feeds and into our hearts, and now we're all hooked.

If you're reading this you probably already know, but for those who might have been sleeping under a rock, Açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) is a superfood berry from South America with numerous health benefits and an array of vitamins, fiber and antioxidants.

These bowls of purple gold are like a breakfast and dessert wrapped into one delicious edible smoothie, and are perfect any time of the day and year, even through winter (although I wouldn't exactly call the Gold Coast's a real winter).

Presentation is key and the more toppings the merrier- fresh fruits, granola, fancy flowers, nuts, chocolatey cacao goodness and even peanut butter, anything goes.

They seem to be available everywhere you turn on the Gold Coast now, but don't just settle for your regular overpriced bowl at the local cafe or smoothie shop. I've first-handedly put it to the test and here are the coast's best bowls, worth every pretty penny they cost.

Here are my top 15 Açaí bowl contenders:
